Welcome to St. James-Gaillard Elementary School where we have created a positive and enriching climate that holds true to our school vision, “We envision our school as a place of learning where all members are expected to plan, encouraged to dream, and inspired to reach beyond their goals.”    All members of our school continue to strive for excellence through goal setting, teamwork, hard work, and a vision for success.  

We are very proud to say that we continue to meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), and our school received an Absolute Rating of Average on the 2010 School Report Card, despite rising criteria for determining ratings.

We are excited to say that we have literacy classes every morning which are tailored to meet the needs of our students. We also instruct according to the explicit direct instruction model and our math instruction is focused on hands on learning through the program, Math Out Of The Box.

We have many exciting programs and activities that students can participate in such as Fall Festival, Just Say No Club, Beta Club, Chorus, PE Dance, Art Club, Student Council, May Day, and so much more.

We are very proud to say that we are on our way to becoming a Science Technology Engineering and Math Magnet School (STEMS).   We took part in writing a grant that is federally funded through the Magnet Assistance Program of America.

Parents are always welcomed to visit the school and take an active part in the education of their child (ren).   We ask you to participate in all school activities, conference consistently with your child’s teacher and play an integral role in our PTO and School Improvement Council.
